Welcome to my blog

Welcome to my blog. Life can be interesting at times with all the seasons we go through. We have the physical seasons of Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. I am not a fan of winter or cold weather. I’m from the South, New Orleans to be exact and now I live in Houston. There are other seasons in life, times of change, the good and the not so good. I have learned to enjoy each day and find the joy that it brings. I have had times where I was so busy trying to accomplish a project that I forgot to enjoy the process. You know the expression ‘Stop and smell the roses’; I didn’t even notice the roses, much less stopping to smell them.

When I was sick, I had to learn be thankful for the time of resting, refocusing, writing, and family that was taking care of me. During the season of COVID-19, I enjoyed walking down the street with my granddaughter, feeling the sun and cool breeze on our faces. It was exciting to watch her experience: butterflies, doodlebugs, bees on my lemon tree, and coloring on the patio with chalk. There were also times of appreciating the simplicity of life: wearing my “house dress of the day”, barefoot, sitting on my back-porch glider with a cup of coffee in hand. It was beautiful to look up at the blue sky and trees, with my family. The best part was not worrying about not working, but to just enjoy the moment that I was in.

Looking ahead I want to remember that when life gets busy, instead of complaining I will find joy. Thankful for the opportunity to work, go to church, take care of my home and family and enjoy the company of friends.

Welcome to my blog stay tuned as I share my favorite tips for: life organizing, cooking, cleaning, joy, and other stuff.
